Spring Fling

Spring Fling is a vibrant visual art and craft open studios event covering the length and breadth of Dumfries and Galloway in South West Scotland; it is highly regarded as one of the UK’s most successful contemporary visual art and craft events. Langholm and the surrounding area play host to the many artists by providing open studios during the festival.
Langholm Bonfire

"Let the sparks fly". On or around the 5th November, Langholm hosts an annual bonfire night with an impressive fire, masses of gasp-inducing fireworks and plenty of stalls selling hearty bonfire fare keeping you fed and warm. This event is organised and run by the Langholm Regeneration Group who are a dedicated team of volunteers working tirelessly all year round fundraising to provide events for the town.

Langholm Common Riding

For over 250 years the Langholm traditions have been upheld by the townspeople. The town standard has been carried by the Cornet to the applause of the people who gather in the Market Place. This event always takes place on the last Friday of July. Starting at 5am, the flute band parades the town, festivities and ceremony continue throughout this special day when tradition dictates the Cornet hands back the flag at the town hall at 9.30pm.
