This traditional family run business started out as Wattie "Wumpy" Wilson's bookshop and stationers in the early 1870's, Known locally as "FannyDans" it became associated with the local newspaper The Eskdale & Liddesdale Advertiser (or the Squeek) for 115 years. Selling a wide range of regional and national newspapers, stationery, confectionary, local maps, seasonal gifts, toys and cards, it is the obvious place to go to find out more about the town or just for a blether.
